Microbiology, Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Trip June 2026

5 Team members from FOHG spent one week at various sites in Kupang transferring skills to various health professionals pertaining to Microbiology, Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
Prof Johannes Hospital:
Time spent in the microbiology lab up-skilling staff, and helping problem solve issues within the laboratory. Entry and exit meeting with Dr Stef Soka. Extensive site visit to various parts of the hospital was carried out by the Infection Prevention and Control consultant and suggestions put forward to staff. Pharmacy site visit performed by the visiting pharmacist.
Citra Bangsa University Pharmacy:
Matt Rawlins gave a guest lecture to about 200 senior pharmacy students: “Pharmacist role in AMS and the Management of Infection in the Hospital”

Public Health Provincial Laboratory:
Site visit & teaching of microbiology lab staff to upskill staff in various areas of microbiology.
NTT Provincial Health Office (Dinas Kesehatan):
Meeting with Head, Ibu Ruth Laiskodat, to discuss issues generally affecting NTT along with funding for BPJS.
UNDANA University:
Visit to the university to sign MOA between FOHG and the university. Talks with staff and students about assisting with projects they have developed, e.g. nutrition and stunting.
