Previous Trips and Programs
In late February 2019 a team from FOHG travelled to Soe to teach at Rumah Sakhit Muder Ignacia.
The trip comprised teams in dermatology, oncology, microbiology/infectious diseases, pathology ,pharmacy, and was made up of both scientific laboratory staff, clinicians and nursing.
A smaller team of Infectious Diseases lab (TG) and ID clinical programme coordinator (GM) and Social development (DT) visited Kupang in August. DT visited the hospital in Soe and found a clean, efficient and busy clinic. Plans to extend to fulfil the requirements for a class D hospital are under discussion.
In developed countries ultrasound is used daily for all manner of diagnosis. With the generous donation of a portable UltraSound machine, it has been possible for FOHG to provide women in Indonesia some of the same opportunities as those in the west.
Noting the high level of unemployment and lack of opportunity to work, and with no local finance available Fohg responded to a request to provide 15 farmers with piglets together with the knowledge of, and support to build pig sties. Fund raising from our supporters made the necessary finance available.
