The Flinders Overseas Health Group (FOHG) Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) team have undertaken significant activities over the years to support ultrasound skills development in Nagakeo Province.
Personal Reflections from a FOHG Volunteeer
I was excited to be asked to join a small group of FOHG volunteers specialising in microbiology laboratory and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) heading to Kupang, West Timor, led by Dr Smathi Chong, Clinical Microbiologist and Infectious Diseases Consultant.
2026 Advanced Life Support Teaching AMP
From the 8-12th June a team of 5 midwives, 2 doctors and 1 sonographer spent two days of teaching advanced life support in obstetrics including PPH, Neo resuscitation, basic life support, breech delivery, shoulder dystocia, estimated blood loss , aortic compressions and condom catheters at the Muder Ignacia Hospital in Soe.
Microbiology, Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship Trip June 2026
5 Team members from FOHG spent one week at various sites in Kupang transferring skills to various health professionals pertaining to Microbiology, Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship.
